Tesla, Porsche, Audi, Ford, Rivian, and every major EV manufacturer explicitly states that their vehicles must be transported on a flatbed with all four wheels off the ground.
If a tow truck driver attempts to hook your EV from the front or rear without a flatbed, do not allow it. The repair cost from drivetrain damage can exceed the cost of the tow by 100 times.

Position on the Flatbed Correctly
We align the vehicle on the flatbed at the correct angle for the model’s approach clearance. Low-clearance EVs like the Taycan and e-tron GT require careful loading to avoid scraping the underbody.
Secure with Soft Straps at Wheel Hubs
We use soft loop straps attached at the wheel hubs or manufacturer-specified anchor points — never chains on the frame, battery housing, or body panels.
Verify and Transport
